Cowl shape#

Vents and airflow#
Outboards need airflow for cooling. Vents and intake openings must stay clear. Film should be trimmed around them. Never block vents.
Heat considerations#
Engines produce heat, and cowlings can get warm. Ask whether the film is suitable for the temperatures on your cowling. Most cowl wraps are on the outer cover, which typically stays cooler than internal parts, but check with your installer.
Badges and decals#
Factory decals and badges may need to be removed or worked around. Some owners keep the manufacturer logo visible, while others replace it with custom graphics.
Multiple engines#
On boats with twin, triple, or quad engines, all cowlings should match. Film batches and print runs should be consistent. Panels should be installed in the same direction.
Warranty#
Check whether wrapping affects your engine warranty, especially if cowlings are removed. Ask your dealer if unsure.
