Hard-sided coolers are popular wrap targets. Their flat or slightly curved sides suit vinyl. Consider:
- Lids that open and close constantly
- Handles and hinges to trim around
- Sitting and standing on coolers, which wears film
- Ice and water inside and outside
Avoid wrapping surfaces people stand on.
Fish boxes#
Built-in fish boxes see blood, slime, and ice. Interior surfaces should stay unwrapped for hygiene and cleaning. Lids and outer sides can be wrapped.
Rod lockers and storage#
Rod lockers and storage compartments have doors and lids that can be wrapped. Consider wear from gear sliding in and out.

Their lids can carry graphics, but the inside surfaces should stay unwrapped, as they need to be cleaned thoroughly and can stay submerged for long periods. Keep any lid graphics simple and check the edges regularly, as water constantly splashes over them.
Keep gear graphics replaceable#
Gear takes more knocks than the hull. Use simple cut graphics or printed panels that can be replaced cheaply, rather than complex designs that are costly to match.
