Sailboats can be wrapped just like powerboats, and a new hull color can transform an older sailboat. But sailboats have features that change how a wrap should be planned, including heeling, chainplates, stanchions, and long, low hulls.
Heeling changes the waterline#
When a sailboat heels, the leeward side dips toward the water and the effective waterline rises. Graphics placed low on the hull may spend time underwater under sail. Keep the wrap high enough to stay above the water most of the time, and finish lower edges carefully.
Chainplates and rigging fittings#

Stanchions and lifelines#
Stanchion bases sit at the deck edge, where feet, lines, and fenders rub. Keep detailed graphics away from these areas.
